On September 23rd 2019, The Managing Directors of Wenzel Group broke ground on a new technical development Center at Hilpoltstein in Bavaria Germany
The location is not far from Greding where the original High Speed Scanning development center has been for over 20 years. In the second quarter of 2020, the technical staff will move to the new premises. The new facility is a modern and generously designed building complex with a floor space of almost 1,000 square meters. Enough space for numerous offices for hardware and software development, construction and administration. There is also an assembly hall for prototype construction. A measuring and climate room is available for demo purposes. Here, in addition to the high-speed optical measuring devices, the complete technology portfolio of the WENZEL Group GmbH & Co. KG is on display.
Investment in research and development
The managing directors Heike Wenzel and Prof. Dr. med. Heiko Wenzel-Schinzer, project manager Jürgen Rauchalles, Mayor Markus Mahl, architect Klaus Damovsky, site manager Rudi Reichert, the local press, and the whole team of the new office attended the ceremonial ceremony. “Today’s start of construction is another important milestone in our more than 50-year history,” Dr. Heike Wenzel. “As the largest family-owned company in metrology, we live on our innovations and the new location strengthens our research and development work, in which we have always invested above average.”
The growth of the “Optical High-Speed Scanning” division has meant we have been looking for a new location for some time now. The industrial park in Hilpoltstein with its immediate location on Bavaria’s main artery A9 is ideal for this. The new branch office will also be used as a demonstration center for WENZEL’s diverse measuring solutions for numerous customers and interested parties from the surrounding economic area.
