Today we hear from Dr. Heike Wenzel, to find out more about her work-life at WENZEL.
On the 50th anniversary of WENZEL, Dr. Heike Wenzel became the sole managing partner of WENZEL Group GmbH & Co. KG. The company is the world’s largest family-run supplier of metrology products and services with over 600 staff on 5 continents.
You are probably wondering how she does it, especially with all the normal day to day things a woman also needs to finalize and that, while building a global company from strength to strength.
When talking to Dr. Heike Wenzel, you can say without question, that her passion for the industry is evident, especially growing up seeing how her father, Werner Wenzel and mother, Helga Wenzel, built the company together. Herr Wenzel with his wonderful entrepreneurial flair and innovative ideas and Frau Wenzel, responsible for the bookkeeping and always supporting him, providing stability as the company grew.
What makes working at WENZEL special?
What do you enjoy most about the industry Dr. Wenzel? I enjoy the diversity of our industry, and like I always say: “Everything that is made, must be measured” which means we are in contact with a vast variety of different industries and people.
What do you enjoy in a WENZEL workday? The atmosphere at WENZEL is wonderful, and the employee’s teamwork to find the best solutions make it a joy to go into work.
The variety of the tasks that start every day is something that I really appreciate, and I love to visit our production floor and see how our machines are created. This is also something that motivates me as it is such a big part of who my father was. To build on the legacy of my parents and continue to make sure that WENZEL; together with our employees, grow and thrive. This is what drives me.
What do you do to get a tough day going? Most importantly, I try to keep my positive attitude intact and then I look forward to going for a relaxing ride with my horse after all the demanding work is done.
If you could choose any super power, what would it be? Sometimes I would like to be able to look into the future; that would make some planning and decisions easier.

3. Never forget that you are working with people and with the right communication you can accomplish a lot.
